$100 from 1000 Lawyers
Collectively Strengthening Access to Justice in Canada
Why This Matters
Every day thousands of Canadians appear in court without a lawyer — not by choice, but because legal representation is financially out of reach. This creates delays, frustration, and real barriers to fairness in the justice system.
The National Self-Represented Litigants Project (NSRLP) exists to ensure people are not left to navigate the justice system alone. Through national research, free public legal education, and practical plain-language resources, the NSRLP supports self-represented litigants (SRLs) and contributes to a justice system that functions more fairly and efficiently for everyone.
How We Help
National data collection and research on self-represented litigants
Free public legal education and plain-language resources
Training and dialogue with justice professionals
Advocacy for system-wide reform
What Your $100 Supports
School for Family Litigants – online legal education and live support
National SRL Professional Directory – connecting people to affordable legal help
Plain-Language Guides – practical tools used by thousands each year
National Research & Data – informing courts and policymakers
Why $100 Matters
If 1000 lawyers give $100 each, we can help stabilize national SRL services. Because the NSRLP’s work is delivered nationally and accessed at scale, even modest contributions have an outsized impact.
