Nawican Friendship Centre (NFC) is a registered charity working in Dawson Creek, BC. NFC operates under the umbrella of the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) and the National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC). NFC works with several government contracts for the provision of essential services to urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

Our vision is for a world of non-judgment, where all can gather to experience a culture full of richness in respect, humility, humour, and honour for all people.

NFC Mandate:

1. To promote friendship and understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous citizens of the South Peace River District.

2. To provide counselling, information, guidance, recreational, and educational programs for the comfort and betterment of Indigenous and non-Indigenous citizens of Dawson Creek and area.

3. To encourage greater participation from people of Indigenous origin in community affairs and activities with a goal of strengthening mutual understanding.

4. To encourage and promote community development. We visualize a world of non-judgement where we can all gather to experience a culture full of richness and respect, humility, humour and honour for all people through culture and education.
