Created in 1991, Nechako Valley SAR provides SAR services for the communities of Vanderhoof, Fraser Lake and 3 local First Nations.
Since 1991, NVSAR provides volunteer emergency search, rescue, recovery and evacuation notice deliveries in the areas of Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake BC. Our members also respond across northern BC as requested by other SAR groups. We work with Emergency Management BC, the RCMP, BC Ambulance, the BC Coroner Service and the various government agencies within our response area as they request our services.
Our capabilities include wilderness and urban search and rescue, wilderness first aid, tracking, swiftwater and flat ice responses. Our members donate 3000-4000 hours each year in training and on task activities.
