New West Music & Arts Society started in 2010 with 30 volunteer members, and has grown close to 100 members, each committed to New West's vision to use music as a conduit to bless others. New West's mission is to “bless people of all ages, leading them to experience love through music, community and compassionate giving.”

New West's adult ensemble, the New West Symphony & Chorus (NWSC), has quickly gained recognition throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta, performing about 15 times a year, and consistently filling churches and auditoriums wherever they go. Starting in September of 2020, New West expanded to include the New West Music Academy (NWMA) for instrumentalists and vocalists of all ages. Then in September 2021, New West added the New West Student Ensemble (NWSE) which is a youth performing ensemble of 40+ students in Grades 7-12 that features both a choir and orchestra.

New West is a registered charity, and is committed to using its platform as a means to help people who are vulnerable and experiencing challenges. Each year, New West members choose two organizations, one local and one international, to partner with and support through the New West Gives Back program.  Throughout the year, each partner organization is highlighted at concerts to help raise funds and awareness for these worthy causes.
