Our Mission

The mandate of the Board of Directors is to ensure that needs of the children, parents and staff are being met through the operating policies as outlined in this Board Manual. As well, the Board supports the School's Management and Staff in order to maintain and build on the high standard of education and child care offered at the school.

The Board of Directors plays an essential role in the continued success of Newpark. Understanding their role and responsibilities and a commitment to the long-term fiscal health and welfare of the school is paramount.

As the day to day management of the school and all philosophy and programming issues are the direct responsibility of the Director; it is crucial for the Board to maintain a supportive, trusting, and positive working relationship with the management of the school.

Ongoing philosophy and programme (goals, planning, and structure) are defined and carried out by the Director and the professional program staff.

The heart of the school is people; the interaction between teacher and child, teacher and teacher, child and child, and teacher and parent. When visitors come to Newpark, they feel the atmosphere, they sense the love and dedication, and they see the hard work that goes on. All of this makes the school hum with activity, enthusiasm and joy.

Newpark Children's Centre is known for the high standards of education offered to the children. Developing the "team" and maintaining the high quality of staffing is an ongoing process.

About NEWPARK CHILDREN'S CENTRE

Newpark is a non-profit child care facility, offering high quality early education and child care since 1986. Newpark attained Charitable Status in 1992.

Newpark is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act of Ontario and meets all local and provincial fire, health and safety regulations.

Newpark is operated by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors determines the policies, budget, and fees for the Centre. Parents are welcome to join the Board of Directors.
