Help Nightwood Keep Growing Strong!

Nightwood Theatre’s 45th anniversary season was a landmark year of creation from the best women and gender-expansive artists in the country. Your generosity supported the internationally-acclaimed show What the Constitution Means to Me (Toronto Theatre Critics Award), innovative productions like Hypothetical Baby and Shedding a Skin, our workshop performance of Where The Spirits Sit and our vital artist development programs. We also put down new roots with Tapestry Opera at the Nancy & Ed Jackman Performance Centre, our inspiring new performance space at 877 Yonge St. 

As spring turns to summer, we look toward the next 45 years of Nightwood. We are excited to announce to you, our nearest and dearest, what we are growing this year.

In our 2025-2026 season, the first of many performances will be seeded on our brand new stage, including the world premiere of a work developed in our Write from the Hip Program and the 40th anniversary of our Groundswell Festival of new plays. In the winter, we are proud to launch a Canadian premiere in an exciting collaboration with Obsidian Theatre and Soulpepper. We will also continue our Shadow Residencies, Creatryx and Write from the Hip programs, which provide emerging artists opportunities to connect with each other and cultivate their careers.
