We mobilize volunteers to remove invasive plant species and restore ecosystems in North Saanich parks.
Invasive plant species in North Saanich parks are decreasing biodiversity, suffocating native species, and negatively affecting ecosystems and soils.
We mobilize volunteers to remove invasive plants to give native plants space to thrive and repair the ecosystems in North Saanich parks.
The Friends of North Saanich Parks get together on many Saturdays throughout the year in numerous parks with shovels, secateurs, loppers, and tarps to remove tonnes of English Ivy, Himalayan blackberry, Scotch broom, Daphne, periwinkle and other invasives.
We also educate volunteers, youth and residents about related ecological matters.
