The North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre (NSSRC) was established in 1974, as the main provider of stroke recovery and community re-integration service, we strive to improve the independence and quality of life for survivors of stroke on the North Shore.
With the support from private donors, government grants, local organizations and community members, we are able to provide our programs at 1/10 of the normal cost and maintain the organization as a non-profit charity. For survivors of stroke, recovery is an ongoing process that requires compassionate self care, strong community support, therapy, and understanding. Our therapeutic programs help NSSRC members thrive.
On June 8, 2019, we are excited to host the 14th Annual Strides for Strokes event at John Lawson Park. The event brings members of the North Shore community together with NSSRC members, their family and friends for a 4k walk/glide/stride/wheel along West Vancouver’s spectacular seawall, followed by lunch, music, prizes, and a silent auction.
Our fundraising goal of $30,000 will enable us to continue refining and delivering high quality rehabilitation and therapeutic programs to survivors of stroke,
