The North Toronto Sports Foundation supports programs that remove barriers to participation in physical activity and organized sports faced by children and youth in the North Toronto area. These barriers include:

• Intellectual disability
• Physical disability
• Limited financial resources
• Lack of facilities, equipment or qualified instructors for school programs

Established in late 2018, the North Toronto Sports Foundation currently assists in funding for these programs:

• Special Olympics Soccer including 4 seasonal sessions and summer camp.

• Physical literacy and soccer training programs in local schools, including the SWAN (Sports, Wellness Achievement Network) in the TDSB Lawrence Heights family of schools.

• Financial support for children from low-income families (refugees, children living in shelters, families supported by local social services agencies, and families experiencing low income who live in the community and attend local schools) to participate in North Toronto Soccer Club programs.

The North Toronto Sports Foundation is supported by grants from foundations which fund programs for youth, and donations from families and family foundations.
