The Northumberland Eats food voucher program aims to provide food support to individuals and families while supporting local businesses across our community.

A partnership of Northumberland United Way and Northumberland County, the program launched as a pilot in December 2020 and moved to a permanent program of United Way as of April 1, 2021.

How does it work?

Northumberland Eats vouchers are distributed by participating social service organizations to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. These vouchers can then be used like cash at nearly 25 participating restaurants and food vendors throughout our community.

By donating to our Northumberland Eats program you are directly helping an individual or family in your community. Plus, did you know when we address root issues like food insecurity, individuals can experience improved physical and mental health, reduced stress, and increased confidence as well. 

• With a $25 donation, one individual will receive food vouchers for a week
• With a $50 donation, one family will receive food vouchers for a week 
• With a $100 donation, one individual will receive food vouchers for a month, or a family will receive vouchers for two weeks, and so on

The options are endless, and the impact is deep.
