The League is a provincial, cross-disability consumer and public education organization that works collaboratively with government, the private sector and the community to ensure the issues faced by all persons with disabilities are heard and addressed by all levels of government and our communities.
The League's members come from both rural and urban parts of Nova Scotia who share common goals and concerns that are represented through the League at the provincial level. 90% of our board members are persons with a disability.
Through initiatives such as Scholarships for Students with Disabilities; Provincial Access Awareness Week; Disability Emergency Preparedness; and Readability, the League takes a leading role and is a major contributor and catalyst to many important and valuable community efforts. It has thus become a cross-disability voice of Nova Scotians with disabilities.
