About the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association

The Oakville Volunteer Auxiliary was founded in 1949 after a group of Oakville residents raised over $125,000 for the construction of a new hospital after WWII. It all began with 100 members.  Since then, our association has gained a rich history and has grown to be more than 1000 volunteers strong.  No visitor to our hospital can fail to be impressed by the extraordinary commitment and dedication of the volunteers working in every area, providing patients and their families with quality care and comfort at what is often a difficult time.  Our green vests make us clearly visible!

The Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association is a self-managed organization which supports the delivery of exemplary patient care through volunteer engagement and fundraising at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The association was incorporated in 2012.  

Members of the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association not only donate their time at the hospital, they also actively fundraise to help Halton Healthcare Services purchase vital medical equipment for the hospital. All funds currently raised by the Oakville Hospital Volunteer Association are directed towards the Association's pledge of $3 million toward Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
