As one of the first Irish family farms established on the North East Avalon, The O’Brien Family Farm and the remarkable story of Aly O’Brien, the last of the family to work the Farm, represent an important part of our Irish and farming history.
An oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city, the farm’s accessible community gardens, forest trails and quiet garden spaces will appeal to visitors of all ages and skill levels.
Whether one is motivated to grow their own food, raise bees or poultry or start a small farm, the O’Brien Farm and Learning Centre will be a community hub for hands-on educational programs encouraging learning about and sharing of practical knowledge and sustainable agriculture.
Everyone benefits when given an opportunity to get back to the land. The O’Brien Farm and Learning Centre is a sound and sustainable investment in our future.
