about

Oceanside Classical Concerts Society is registered as a charity by the Canada Revenue Agency.

CONCERTS AND STUDENT PROGRAMS

We believe that classical music is an essential element in the cultural life of the Oceanside area. Oceanside Classical Concerts Society is committed to changing lives through music’s extraordinary power to communicate, inspire, uplift and entertain.

We celebrate artistic excellence in classical music by presenting live performances of the world’s great masterpieces by nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians, and promotion of Canadian artists.

In addition to our concert series, OCCS has four Community Outreach Programs: Early Years, Music for Youth, Instrument Lending Program and Scholarship Awards. The programs create musical experiences and opportunities for children and youth in Oceanside communities.

DONATIONS TO OCCS CONCERTS & COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS

Your donation to the General Fund will ensure excellence in concert operations, helping to offset performer fees, travel expenses and venue rental costs.

Donations to the Early Years Program assist us in bringing the joy of music to children in a fun and interactive way by planting the seeds of future learning and feeding curiosity. Facilitated by a professional musician and educator, children enjoy a mini-concert and hands-on experience with instruments.

The Music for Youth Program creates musical experiences in schools for students aged 10-18 with outstanding education performances and workshops by high-calibre professional musicians. Your donation will help expand the number of students we reach each year.

The Musical Instrument Lending Program was established to assist children who need musical instruments for school or other music programs. The instruments are loaned free of charge for as long as needed. Your donation will assist with the cost of refurbishing donated instruments.

The OCCS Scholarship Fund is dedicated to fostering the future of all forms and genres of music by providing financial assistance to students entering a music-related program at the post-secondary level. OCCS awards one or more scholarships each year based on an adjudicated competition and academic achievement. Your donation will ensure the continuing support for local aspiring musicians.
