KEEPING TEENAGERS IN SCHOOL
$100 will help keep a teenager in school for another year!
For most of our children, by the time they are 12 or 13 years of age, they are expected to start contributing to the family financially. The boys have to go to work - catering, selling garlic, any odd job they can find. The girls are given the household chores and taking care of younger siblings. On top of this, inflation has hit travel and basic costs which makes studying a burden rather than gift. To study in the upper grades (9-12), some of our students have to travel 2 hours to school and 2 hours back.
