The Ontario Brain Institute Foundation (OBIF) is a public foundation whose mandate is to further brain and neuroscience research and the education and training of brain and neuroscience researchers.

OBIF supports the work of the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI - https://braininstitute.ca/), a provincially funded, not-for-profit organization that accelerates discovery and innovation, benefiting both patients and the economy. 

OBI’s vision is to maximize the impact of neuroscience and establish Ontario as a world leader in brain research, commercialization and care. 

We realize this through our collaborative ‘team science’ approach between researchers, clinicians, industry, patients, and their advocates to foster discovery and deliver innovative products and services that improve the lives of those living with brain disorders. 

Our collaborative approach to research aims to: 

• Enhance the neuroscience research system 

• Grow the Ontario neurotechnology cluster 

• Improve brain health for Ontarians
