Our Mission
The purpose of the Ontario Deaf Foundation is to promote a positive image of Deaf people, its community and culture in Canada.
About ONTARIO DEAF FOUNDATION
The Foundation strives to transform its charitable objectives into action through its several Funds:
- * Hold annual research award competitions to encourage research and resource development that advances Canadian ASL-English bilingual-bicultural education for Deaf children (ASL Research & Resource Fund)
- * Host the new annual ASL Classic Family Hour production on Zoom to engage Deaf children and their families through educational and entertaining storytelling (Celebrating Deaf Culture Fund)
- * Foster better appreciation of the arts and culture, heritage, and contributions of Deaf people in the Greater Hamilton Area through the annual International Week of the Deaf (IWD) activities (Deaf Hamilton Community Fund)
- * Provide annual funding to the Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf in support of its charitable activities (Future-building Fund)
- * Develop charitable projects that deliver lasting strategic value to the Deaf community and broader society in Ontario (ODF Community-building Fund)
