About
Ontario Nature is a charitable organization representing more than 30,000 members and supporters, and 150 member groups across Ontario. Through a system of publicly-accessible nature reserves and other programs, Ontario Nature has been the leading organization protecting Ontario’s rich biodiversity since 1931.
Goals
Protect and restore nature in Ontario. Ontario Nature is the leading voice in the promotion and preservation of Ontario's natural environment through the creation of parks and nature reserves, the responsible management of forests, and the protection of rare, threatened, and endangered species.
Connect people with nature. We work to involve people in nature protection and to foster a conservation ethic by encouraging responsibility towards nature. We offer support to local conservation groups, distribute educational materials, and provide hands-on conservation and restoration teaching opportunities.
Advocate on behalf of nature. We continue to be a strong presence at Queen's Park, working with the government to create policies that protect wildlife and natural areas.
Educate the public on the importance of nature in all of our lives. We provideopportunities for youth and adults in every region of the province to learn more about nature and become actively engaged in the conservation movement.
To combat the increasingly serious threats to our environment, and to promote a positive vision of environmental protection, we need your support.
