Who is OSSCO©?
OSSCO© is a provincially registered charity. Founded in 1987, we bring together older adults and seniors to educate and inform them with our unique, focused, and targeted learning. We focus on making aging easier…for everyone through knowledge, research, and public policy.
Our members and supporters represent more than 500,000 older adults across Ontario. Their members access life skills education programs and workshops as well as for job seekers 50+ delivered in THE OSSCO WAY© through Peer Facilitators.
Our learning principles recognize the 4 Stages of Aging Model. Applying these principles results in learning specific to 4-groups of seniors so that they remain independent, financially secure, and live safely in their communities. This approach is captured as THE OSSCO WAY©, resulting in the production and delivery of learning programs for people aged 55 -64, 65 – 74, 75 – 84, and older.
OSSCO© uses various methods to deliver programs, including in-person, online, self-directed programs on our website, by mail, social media, and through OSSCO©‘s YouTube channel. By not charging for continuous learning, OSSCO© removes the barriers for low to lower-income older people.
