Our Mission
The Or Gallery is an artist-run centre committed to exhibiting work by local, national, and international artists whose art practice is of a critical, conceptual and/or interdisciplinary nature. Since its inception in 1983, the gallery has acted as a laboratory for research, proposition making, conceptual experimentation and documentation.

Honouring an historical emphasis on curatorial practice, and as a strategy to introduce diverse ideas and new artists to the gallery’s program, the Or continues to supplement its own programming with guest-curated exhibitions and projects. The Or makes art accessible to a wide and varied audience by also organizing artistic projects at sites other than the gallery.
