The face of hunger has changed... Our response must too.

We are the last resort for many families and individuals in Dufferin County who are struggling. The rising cost of living, stagnant wages, and inadequate social assistance rates are driving more people to our doors — and we're seeing that growth reflected in both Orangeville and Grand Valley.

70% of the families we serve pay market rent they can no longer keep up with.

Between July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, we processed 700,000 lbs. of food to meet the need — even as donations dropped 10% and our food purchasing rose by 8% (15,000 lbs.) to cover the gap.

Our vision is a well-nourished community.

Orangeville Food Bank and Dufferin Food Share lead in meeting the nutritional needs of our community, providing dignified food assistance, education, and advocacy for solutions to end poverty.

Your support makes it possible for us to distribute food and run community programs across Orangeville and Grand Valley, while continuing to advocate for the systemic changes — affordable housing, adequate social assistance rates, and a stronger EI system — that will one day make food banks unnecessary.

It takes more than a food bank to end hunger. When you support us, you:

Enable the distribution of 670,414 lbs. of food, including 479,717 lbs. donated by our community.

Help run three community produce markets, which saw 1,560 visits, and Seniors Markets, which saw 900 visits.

Support our Community Vending Machine, which provided 30,000 meals to those in need.

Grow food security at the grassroots — our community garden produced 904 lbs. of fresh produce last year.

Strengthen our shopping-model food bank in Grand Valley, now offering added community office and meeting space for partners like the Dufferin Area Family Health Team, Alzheimer's Dufferin, and Ontario Disability Support Program outreach.

Our work is bolstered by the steadfast support of 266 volunteers who contributed 33,113 hours of service this past year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) — sorting and packing food, running our markets, and keeping every part of our operation moving.

Our biggest fundraiser, Coldest Night of the Year, brought together over 500 participants and raised $216,000 for the hungry, hurt, and homeless in our community.
