Through the growth and stewardship of permanent endowment funds and the distribution of income to a broad range of eligible organizations and activities, the Osprey Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life for all area residents.

About OSPREY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

We are a community foundation created by and for the residents of Nelson and the surrounding area. We also administer community funds created by nearby communities: the Slocan Valley Legacy Fund, the Salmo Valley Fund and the Community Fund of North Kootenay Lake.

We are here to help individuals and groups make an ongoing difference in their communities. When you give to a fund within Osprey Community Foundation, your money is never spent. Instead, it is added to a growing, income-earning pool of capital. Each year the earnings on that capital flow back into our communities though grants to local charities. Your donation is like an apple tree - once planted, the tree will keep providing harvests for year after year. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Osprey grants support services for seniors, fund youth programs, provide scholarships, feed the hungry, support the arts, improve the health and safety of our citizens, and much more.
