About OTTAWA NETWORK FOR EDUCATION
ONFE is a hub for education, business and community partners committed to helping Ottawa students reach their full potential.
Our programs have two main areas of focus:
Student Support: For some K-12 students, wanting to learn is not enough. Coming to school on an empty stomach, learning disabilities, and substance abuse issues are examples of challenges that some students must face. Together we have introduced programs that help to address these and other barriers to learning. ONFE serves more than 50,000 students each year.
Career Preparation: Through partnerships with the local business community, ONFE offers K-12 students “real world” learning opportunities. With the support of business mentors, students explore entrepreneurship as a career option, learn financial literacy, basic business skills and also connect schools with local experts who introduce students to the latest in technology, offering hands-on learning and career exploration opportunities.
