CAMPAIGN GOAL: $10,000 VOICES COMMISSIONED: 100/100
Who is Outside the March?
Over the past six years, Outside the March Theatre Company has invited our audiences to play with us in kindergarten classrooms, parade with Queen Elizabeth along the Danforth, tinker in garages, congregate in churches, venture out on a 911 paramedic call, and to join us up onstage at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.
Since our founding in 2009, we've proudly worked with over 100 Canadian artists to deliver new, immersive, engaging, site-specific theatre.
Now we are raising funds for the company's future by creating "100 Outside Voices", a video/poem/love letter to Toronto composed by international spoken-word artist Vanessa Smythe.
What is "100 Outside Voices"?
Vanessa Smythe has written a one-of-a-kind ballad that gets to the heart of the experience of living in Toronto. Each line of the poem will be recorded by a different one of 100 Canadian artists who have worked with OtM over our past ten productions - each video brought to life in a different favourite Toronto location. Once the campaign is completed, we will stitch all 100 lines together to create one of the most unique, and theatrical, love letters the city of Toronto has ever received. AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
How can I make this happen?
For a donation of $100 CAN, you can unlock 1/100 lines of poetry, and become the patron of one of our 100 artists. Donations can be graciously accepted on this Canada Helps page. All donations will receive a tax receipt.
