about

Our humanitarian vision

The creation of a just and sustainable world

Our humanitarian mission

Oxfam-Québec works to strengthen its partners and allies in developing countries in the design and implementation of sustainable solutions to poverty and injustice. It mobilizes the population of Quebec in the expression of its solidarity.

Women's and men's rights are at the heart of our actions.

We aim to :

- put an end to the causes of poverty

- put economic and social justice at the top of the global agenda -

- be a dynamic actor in the global citizen movement for a more just world.

Strategic Goals

Through its strategic plan, Oxfam-Quebec has adopted a series of strategic objectives that contribute to achieving essential and sustainable change for many communities.

Economic justice

The structure of the global economic system will be transformed to increase respect for human rights and make them more attainable, secure, and sustainable for all. When human rights are our top priority, women's rights are brought to the forefront.

Essential Services

Millennium Development Goals for essential services will be met. People living in poverty, especially women and girls, will be able to exercise their rights and access affordable health, education, water and sanitation services.

Rights in crisis situations

All people affected by humanitarian crises, whoever they are, wherever they are, and however they are affected, will be able to count on the protection and assistance they need, in accordance with their rights.

Gender equity

Through changes in attitudes, mentalities and beliefs about gender relations, through their active involvement and leadership in decision-making bodies and in the processes of change, more women will have their rights respected and will be able to take control of their future, free from violence.
