Dharma Farm (formerly Sadie’s Place/PEI Equine Retirement Society) was formed in 1996 by a group of caring individuals committed to rescuing standardbred race horses (and other horses) in need of home. The rescue has evolved over the last 26 years to help all animals in need - in particular, horses and farm animals but we advocate on behalf of all species.
We have always known the transformative powers of working with animals and in 2022 we expanded our mandate to offer programs that allow children and youth the opportunity to break through barriers that may be prevent them from living their best life. Our leadership, literacy and life skills programs are continuing to expand and evolve to meet the needs of our Island community.
