Pacific Animal Therapy Society (PATS) is a volunteer-run non-profit animal therapy organization serving Vancouver Island (British Columbia) for over 30 years. We provide support to local communities through connection with pets at many locations. We estimate we provide service to 18,000 individuals each year. Our animals and humans have logged over 4500 volunteer hours last year. Donations help fund our ongoing program costs, volunteer support and education. Some of our sessions are Pet Cafe at the University of Victoria, Paws & Tales supporting children's literacy in our local schools, and visits to health and retirement facilities that support seniors and other vulnerable groups.
