PACIFICA HOUSING

about

Our Mission

Pacifica Housing is a not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the independence of individuals and families through equitable housing and supportive services.

About Pacifica Housing

Our vision is equitable housing in pursuit of thriving communities. We aspire to the just and fair treatment of all. Our model is housing with heart - it incorporates housing first and harm reduction strategies.

We seek to build thriving communities that are strong and secure, including a connected sense of belonging, environmental sustainability and stewardship, and opportunities for independent growth, self-determination, and healthy relationships.

Who we serve

Those participating in our programs often face complex issues like poverty, substance misuse, chronic and episodic homelessness, unemployment, and compromised mental health.

What we offer

Through our community services programming, and with more than 1,400 affordable homes and new developments coming in the future, we support more than 2,500 individuals and families in Greater Victoria and Nanaimo. We meet the needs of community members across the housing continuum, from supportive housing serving individuals with a history of homelessness to townhouse complexes for low-income families to a residence for vulnerable and marginalized seniors.

Supportive Services

  1. Pacifica Housing runs the Downtown Outreach and Housing Resource Services program, which provides drop-in advocacy, housing, and financial navigation services for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  2. Streets to Homes (S2H) Program, which helps those unhoused to secure permanent private market housing.
  3. Our Outreach Team supports 200+ individuals in the private market with rent supplements, essential support, and connections to individualized services.
  4. Encampment Outreach services that bring together government, health, police, bylaw enforcement staff, and social service agencies to provide support and information to people experiencing public homelessness, an Indigenous Outreach Worker that provides culturally appropriate client supports to our urban Indigenous community, and Landlord Liaison services that help clients find homes and create and maintain relationships with private-market landlords.

Community Programs

Pacifica Housing provides programs such as community gardens, community meals, and the Housing Crisis Prevention program to support successful independent living and improved quality of life for our residents.
