PACT Grow-to-Learn Emergency Fresh Food Box

Due to the Covid-19 situation, PACT is committed to continuing to find new and innovative ways to provide fresh food to the hundreds of families and individuals that rely on us each year.

The Grow-to-Learn Emergency Fresh Food Box, available by delivery or pick-up in Lawrence Heights, provides fresh food and a nutritious cooked meal, at no cost, to vulnerable families and seniors, who are greatly impacted by the current situation.

As a certified Good Food Organization, PACT recently secured emergency relief funding from Community Food Centres Canada’s Good Food Access Fund to launch this emergency initiative.

This seed funding, along with a green light from the TDSB that gives PACT limited access to our main urban farm, will allow us to begin scaled back and safe production activities to address immediate food insecurity needs.

To start, PACT will provide a healthy meal to approximately 400 individuals, along with a produce box per family, on a weekly basis for a period of two months.

Most of the individuals that count on the PACT weekly Community Compost Exchange (food scraps for fresh food) each year are vulnerable populations, low-income earners most affected by Covid-19, and those who rely on public transit to access more affordable grocery stores.

Your donation will help us continue to serve this community and meet the increasing needs of those that need support the most.
