About Pamoja
Pamoja means “Together” in Swahili. Pamoja was founded in 2005 and has brought people together from Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa to work with the residents of three small rural villages in Katanga Province in southern DRC. Pamoja's current focus is on raising funds to cover the salary of a teacher and to purchase a commercial oil press that will provide women with the means of raising revenue by producing oil from peanut and sunflower crops and selling it at a market in the nearby city of Kolwezi.
