The cost of injury, both emotional and economical, is staggering. Preventable injuries are the No. 1 killer for people ages 1 to 34. These injuries cost the Canadian economy $27 billion each year, and worst of all, one child dies every day, on average.

In the past decade, we’ve seen fewer injury-related deaths in Canada thanks to better laws, products and education. That’s the encouraging news. But we can, and must, do more.

Parachute, through education and advocacy based on the latest and best research on injury prevention, is leading the charge to reduce preventable and predictable injuries. From campaigns such as National Teen Driver Safety Week to the development of the first Canadian Guideline on Concussion in Sport, we inform and persuade Canadians to move, live and play safely.
