Our mission is to build food security in Burlington by providing access to fresh and nutritious food with dignity and kindness.
Our Mission, Our Promise
Since 1991 we have been serving the community of Burlington by providing food to those in need and to coordinate food and financial donations from Burlington individuals, corporations, churches, service groups and other organizations.
While most of our donations are non-perishable food items, Burlington Food Bank also supplies milk, eggs, meat, bread and fresh fruits and vegetables to our clients. Food is sourced through corporate and individual donations, sponsorships, and through our collaborative membership with Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada.
About BURLINGTON FOOD BANK
BURLINGTON FOOD BANK is a registered charitable organization, whose purpose is to provide food for the needy in our community. We receive, inspect for best-before and expiry dates, sort, and distribute food to our regular drop-in clients. We partner with and support other food banks, community dinners and many other agencies in the area. We are members of Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada. Our Board of Directors consists of 9 public members. The Board is mandated to ensure that all Federal and Provincial requirements are met and that the maximum amount of donated funds is directed to supporting the needs of our clients.
