Periwinkle Children's Centre

about

WE ARE RAISING $100,000 TO SUPPORT MORE FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

Periwinkle Children’s Centre is a non-profit village daycare in Kaslo, BC offering a Waldorf-inspired program with a focus on outdoor education for children ages 2.5 to 5 years old. Periwinkle is currently at an interesting juncture where we are looking to expand our services so we can support more families in Kaslo and its surrounding communities.

WHY ARE WE RAISING $100,000?
Periwinkle Children’s Centre is currently unable to meet the demand for child care within the community. We have a vision to expand our services to meet the growing needs of families. For the last two years, our team of volunteer board members and program manager has been working hard to make this vision a reality; from grant writing and fundraising to managing the centre’s expansion project, we are finally at a point where this expansion is ready to be birthed.
Will you help us obtain the funds we need to proceed with our expansion project?

The $100,000 will go into:
· Cost of construction of the expansion and safety updates to the building
· Licensing, contractors, and permits
· New cubbies, furniture, fixtures and necessary appliance upgrades
· Hiring a new ECE and ECEA to join the team full time

The expansion of Periwinkle Children’s Centre will:
· Increase our capacity to receive more children into our program, from 36 spaces to 100 spaces
· Increase our days of service from 3 days per week up 5 days per week to cater to working families
· Increase our staffing hours and daycare days offered
· Ability to pay our staffs a fair, living wage
· Help us establish and execute enhanced safety protocols for our staff and the children in our care
