about

Building pathways to opportunity through STEAM

Every child deserves the opportunity to develop the skills they need to thrive—regardless of where they live.

Yet for many people in rural, remote, Northern, and Indigenous communities, access to technology, digital skills training, and hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education remains limited. These barriers can restrict educational opportunities, employment pathways, and participation in an increasingly digital world.

The Pinnguaq Foundation exists to change that.

As the charitable partner of Ampere, we help deliver innovative, community-led STEAM education, digital literacy, and workforce development programs that reflect local cultures, languages, and strengths. Working alongside communities, we co-design learning experiences that empower children, youth, adults, and seniors/Elders to build confidence, creativity, and practical skills through technology, arts, and play.

Each year, our programs reach thousands of participants of all ages across Canada through after-school programs, summer camps, school partnerships, makerspaces, digital skills workshops, coding initiatives, environmental learning, skilled trades exploration, and workforce development programs. Every initiative is designed with communities to ensure it is culturally relevant, accessible, and responsive to local priorities.

Our vision is a future where geography is never a barrier to opportunity. We believe that when communities have equitable access to technology, education, and creative learning, they can build stronger local economies, preserve culture and language, inspire the next generation of innovators, and create lasting social change.

Your support helps provide:

  • Hands-on STEAM programs for children and youth
  • Digital literacy training for adults and seniors/Elders
  • Technology, equipment, and learning resources for underserved communities
  • Makerspaces that foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration
  • Workforce development opportunities that prepare participants for meaningful careers

Together, we are creating vibrant, connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to learn, create, and reach their full potential.
