Place of Refuge Society provides two long-term transitional housing programs for men seeking support in the second stage of their wellness from substance Use. It is licensed by the City of Vancouver and regulated by the Assisted Living Registry of British Columbia. On December 15th, 2024, we officially opened our second transitional housing program, less than one block from our primary home. This additional housing program provides ten beds for men affected by substance use who are seeking long-term and affordable housing. Our mandate is to provide a safe environment for men to become healthy and confident and remain free from alcohol or drugs. Additionally, our service model provides therapeutic support and life skills coaching for men entering and returning to the workforce or education system.
POR welcomes donations from individuals in the community who wish to support our life-changing work. We have recently opened a second program in South Vancouver, and your support to cover the immense costs of providing these vital services to our marginalized population has never been greater.
