Playwrights Guild of Canada is a national arts service organization mandated to advance the creative rights and interests of professional Canadian playwrights, promote Canadian plays nationally and internationally, and foster an active, evolving community of writers for the stage.
About Our Charity
Playwrights Guild of Canada (PGC), previously known as Playwrights Union of Canada was established in 1972 to advocate on behalf of Canadian playwrights. Over 600 playwrights across Canada are supported by PGC.
PGC provides a number of services, including: a Canada Council of the Arts funded reading program, workshops and promotional services for Canadian plays.
PGC also has Canada's largest archive of Canadian plays (over 2500 titles), and handles the amateur/education performance rights for most of its members.
