The Port Alberni ACL Foundation was established under the umbrella of the Port Alberni Association for Community Living for the purpose of promoting the establishment or development of programs, and activities for individuals with developmental disabilities and to assist individuals to fully participate as valued members of their community.

The purposes of the Foundation are as follows:

• Raise funds to enable the Society to carry out the purposes of the Society.
• To accept and receive such gifts, grants, donations, legacies, bequests, memorial funds, endowments and similar gratuitous dispositions of money and of personal and real property from all sources including corporations and other charitable organizations and other funds as deemed appropriate for use of carrying out the purpose of the Society.
• To hold and keep invested the money proceeds of the foresaid gifts and other dispositions from time to time.
• To make gifts of charitable organizations in the Municipality of Port Alberni, who support persons with a developmental disability and thereby assist them to defray the costs of their programs, of equipment purchases, of physical development, and of initiatives to promote and support community awareness of the special needs of persons with a developmental disability.
• To establish a capital fund for the purposes of developing community living options that provide opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to fully participate in the community.
• To engage in activities that will be of benefit to individuals with developmental disabilities.
