There are 39 million blind people in the world. But did you know that 80% of the blindness can be prevented or cured? That is, over 30 million who are blind which could have been avoided. How unfair and shocking is this?

Close to 30% of the world’s blind population live in India. These people are economically disadvantaged. Blindness due to cataract is a huge problem causing untold suffering and added burden on already financially strapped families. Cataract surgery is one of the most effective of all health interventions. Yes, cataracts are surgically correctable.
