About the qathet Academy of Music & Arts
The qathet Academy is a not-for-profit community music & arts school offering excellence in arts education to students of all ages as well as adults.
Presenting the International Choral Kathaumixw Festival, the International Harp Academy of the Pacific and the Academy Concert Series the Powell River Academy of Music enriches the lives of citizens and visitors.
Through its training programs in music, dance, theatre, visual arts students and adults develop their talents and skills and acquire a lifelong "love of the arts".
Academy Choirs are known world-wide through their performances, recordings, television and radio broadcasts in over 26 countries.
Powell River is located 80 air miles north of Vancouver on British Columbia's beautiful 'sunshine coast' - the gateway to the extraordinary vistas of Desolation Sound.
