Our Mission
The Powell River Therapeutic Riding Association was founded as a non-profit society in 1991, and received charitable status in 1992. Our mission since then has been to provide therapeutic rehabilitation and recreation, through the use of the horse, to children and adults with physical, mental, psychological, and social and learning disabilities; and to become a major contributor to persons with disabilities in our community.
About POWELL RIVER THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION
At PRTRA we believe in improving and empowering the lives of children and adults with physical, mental, psychological, social, and learning disabilities, through riding and interacting with horses. Our Board of Directors, volunteers and staff, together with our eight horses, work with passion and commitment to provide a unique service to people with disabilities in the Powell River region.
