The Pride Center of Edmonton enriches and improves the lives of LGBT*TQ people, their allies, and the broader community in the Greater Edmonton area. The Centre provides resources, social and wellness supports, public education, leadership opportunities, referrals, and a safe, welcoming space through its programs and partnerships.
About the Pride Centre of Edmonton
The Pride Centre of Edmonton provides a non-judgmental, welcoming space where people of all sexual orientations/expressions and gender identities/expressions can be themselves, find support, meet new people, and be a part of a caring community. Under our roof is a safe space that welcomes every individual who walks through the doors. We offer resources, education, volunteer opportunities, counselling, STI testing, and a whole host of activities. We also organize programs such as support groups, social events, and educational seminars to help improve the social, mental, and physical health of our community. Last but not least, we are partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters and work to unite LGBT*TQ youth with adult mentors.
Our registered charitable organization does not charge fees for any of its programs and services. The Pride Centre is open to everyone: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, queer, questioning, 2-spirit, asexual (GLBTTIQQ2SA) people and our straight-allied friends who are supportive of the community.
More than 1,000 people come through the doors of the Pride Centre every month. We have over 20 active weekly and monthly community-aimed programs operating on a drop-in basis. The Centre also presents annual events: Queer Youth Prom, Queer Women and Trans Festival, Paint the Town Red Gala, and the Hops and Whiskey fundraiser. It is a proud partner in Edmonton’s Pride Festival, Edmonton’s Drop-In Single Session Counselling initiative, Edmonton’s Suicide Prevention Strategy, Rainbow Youth Alliance of Edmonton, and The Wellness Network.
