Prison Fellowship Canada (PFC) is a community-based movement of volunteers across Canada supporting offenders, ex-offenders and their families and victims through transformative rehabilitation programs based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to prepare and mobilize the Canadian Christian community in response to the issue of crime and the restoration of offenders.

Prison Fellowship Canada was incorporated in 1980, and is a charter member of Prison Fellowship International. With over 100,000 volunteers in 125 countries, together we form the largest prison ministry network in the world.

With a foundational belief in the transformational power of God in bringing true justice to bear, Prison Fellowship Canada looks forward to Serving Life alongside whole communities as we bring significant social change to Canada’s justice landscape.

1. In-Prison - Ministering to Inmates

Our InnerChange program for offenders is facilitated by trained PFC Volunteers and includes:

  • Bible study
  • Mentoring groups
  • One-to-one mentoring
  • Pen Pal
  • Chapel services

2. Aftercare - Ministering Former Inmates in their Re-Entry

The mission of Prison Fellowship Canada includes engaging the community to identify and accept these individuals back into the community and to provide opportunities that will serve to reintegrate these individuals in the context of friendship and accountability. This includes connecting ex-offenders to local chapters of PFC volunteers as well as to partner churches and other local organizations for community and support.

3. Children & Families - Angel Tree Christmas & Camping

Maintaining a connection between an offender and their children is crucial. Angel Tree Christmas offers the chance for offenders to give a gift to their children and to let them know that they aren't forgotten. During the summertime, Angel Tree Camping provides funding for a child with an incarcerated parent to attend and integrate into a regular week at a local Christian day or overnight camp.

4. Victim-Offender Reconciliation - Sycamore Tree

The goal of our work with victims is to address the victim in relation to the offender, by providing training and facilitating programs that allow the victim to be heard and cared for, and to give them the opportunity to heal from their loss through forgiveness.
