Productions Jeun'Est a pour mission de former et insérer en emploi de jeunes adultes en difficultés dans les métiers de l'arrière-scène.
Productions Jeun'Est is a non-profit organization that has exists since 1996 and is dedicated to developing the citizenship of young Montrealers aged 18 to 35. We offer young people training focused on learning theories and techniques of performing arts professions by providing ongoing socio-professional support. The clientele targeted by this project is composed of young adults who are unemployed or in precarious employment status, school or social dropouts, aged between 18 and 35, mainly residing in the territory of Montreal, attracted to the job market to practice as backstage technicians and demonstrating a desire and ability to undertake a personal journey.
Citizenship is:
» Being able to know your rights and responsibilities in order to fully exercise them.
» Having the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for your integration.
» Having power over your life and your environment.
In this regard, we understand three types of exclusion among young people:
Socioeconomic: the young person does not have the income necessary to meet their basic needs;Psychosocial: the young person who is sick, poorly adapted and who drops out;Destitute: the young person who no longer has any power over their life and their environment. (Guy Paiement, Droit de Cité, C E Q, Fall 94, p. 26.)
By dealing with these three dimensions, Productions Jeun’Est restores the motivation and the conditions necessary for young people to participate in the affairs of the city.
OBJECTIVE: TRAINING FOR BETTER ACHIEVEMENT
» Condition young people to the process of taking responsibility and integrating into the job market.

Over the years, we have developed several partnerships to complement learning with field experiences. Thus, experimentation platforms take place at our partners' sites.
The training project aims to train around twenty young people over a period of one year. They will follow training in stage techniques as well as socio-professional training. The main objectives of the project are to:
» Contribute to the development of the employability of people who are disadvantaged in terms of employment by helping them integrate the job market.
» Allow young adults to develop their personal, social and professional skills related to employment integration.

» Allow a young clientele of unemployed people to acquire skills related to employment, in the cultural field in stage techniques, in order to contribute to integration into the job market and maintaining employment.
» Improve employability and increase the degree of adaptability to the workplace through the development of the person's skills, abilities, cognitive and social skills.
» Offer activities specific to the development of attitudes and behaviors required by the job market: habits of attention, precision and meticulousness in the execution of different technical operations; the acquisition of skills necessary to comply with standards, directives and procedures; planning and organizing work; respecting deadlines; teamwork skills and interactions with other people.
