EDUCATING FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES IN NORTHERN TANZANIA
TEMBO (Tanzania Education and Micro-Business Opportunity) is a federally incorporated, registered Canadian charity working in partnership with two local Tanzanian organizations, TEMBO (Tanzania) and Learning in Longido.
In northern Tanzania, poverty affects many families, shaping the lives of both girls and women. Girls are often married as early as 13, cutting short their education and their dreams for the future. For women, limited economic opportunities make it difficult to provide for their families.
TEMBO helps girls stay in school and gives women the opportunity to build small businesses so they can provide for their families with dignity and hope.
We also promote community learning through the Longido District Learning Centre. Our programs continue to have a significant impact on the quality of life for the entire Longido community.
