EDUCATING FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES IN NORTHERN TANZANIA
TEMBO (Tanzania Education and Micro-Business Opportunity) is a federally incorporated, registered Canadian charity working in partnership with two local Tanzanian organizations, TEMBO (Tanzania) and Learning in Longido.
Northern Tanzania is home to some of the country’s poorest people. Girls are married early, often at age 13, and have no chance of pursuing secondary education. Women have limited opportunities to provide for their families.
TEMBO exists to enable girls to go to school and to provide micro-business and goat programs so that women can feed their families.
We also promote community learning through the Longido District Learning Centre. Our programs continue to have a significant impact on the quality of life for the entire Longido community.
