Pierrefonds Community Project (PCP) has an ongoing, special partnership with KIDCoders Academy to provide introductory block coding programs for kids aged 9 – 14. Tech coding is quickly growing in popularity and can provide a viable career path that sparks the imagination, ignites interest in learning and technology, hones presentation skills, and provides kids with a huge sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. Given the specialized equipment & expertise, high costs have created exclusivity and high barriers to entry. PCP’s goal is to lower these barriers and provide kids from low-income families a unique opportunity to explore and hopefully develop an interest in a STEM industry field that will be beneficial for years to come.
