Providing Avenues to Hope Society (PATHS) is devoted to providing both long and short-term support to those in need. PATHS primary focus over the last several years has been in response to the growing need and level of danger for survivors of domestic violence. 

*In 2023, in Alberta, local shelters saw a 12.5% increase in calls and more than 65% of survivors surveyed were at severe or extreme risk of being killed by a current or former partner. 90% of the referrals to PATHS are to support these high-risk situations.

Unlike any other Canadian charity, we equip and empower individuals and their families, so they are protected and feel safe whether at home or out in the community. Guided by our motto to empower, protect and respect, we offer the following services on a case-by-case basis at no-cost through our Domestic Violence Response Program: 

• Threat assessments and various levels of protective services
• Deployment of personal safety devices, home security or monitoring equipment
• Technical interventions for cyber stalking 
• Security and cyber audits of residential and shelter facilities 
• Viable and realistic safety planning
