Under the leadership of Artistic Director Peter Quanz, Q DANCE (Quanz Dance Company) is an internationally acclaimed charitable organization dedicated to the creation, preservation, and advancement of contemporary ballet. We operate as a nimble "choreographic laboratory," dismantling the borders between classical technique and visceral contemporary movement.
Our Mandate:
1. CREATION: We produce distinct new works that bridge cultures, exemplified by a decade of collaboration in Asia and upcoming large-scale commissions for major national companies (2026-2027).
2. EDUCATION & MENTORSHIP: We nurture the next generation of Canadian creators through independent mentorship initiatives, offering emerging artists guidance on the rigorous demands of international production and choreography.
3. DIGITAL PRESERVATION: We are upgrading our digital infrastructure to preserve Canada's dance history. We are currently organizing and cataloging the extensive creative assets from over 70 original works created since 2000, ensuring the long-term legacy of this repertoire for future educational use.
