About

Rainbow Resource Centre provides a spectrum of support for Winnipeg’s 2SLGBTQ+ community. Anchored by its Youth Program and Over the Rainbow Program (55+), it offer free short-term counselling, nine volunteer-led social support groups that represent the diverse communities under the 2SLGBTQ+ umbrella such as trans masculine, trans feminine, gender creative children, a group for parents and

friends of trans individuals, newcomers, non-binary folks, gay men and lesbians. Monthly, the Centre offers the Trans ID Clinic, a legal clinic in which trans folks have access to free legal assistance with changing their names and/or gender markers. It holds Camp Aurora, Manitoba’s only summer camp for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and conducts classroom and GSA education/outreach.

Over the next few years, The Centre will embark on a capital project to build Canada's first affirming housing, exclusively for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors. The Centre will occupy the surrounding site creating a campus of Rainbow services for the community. The "Place of Pride" will be located in the hearth of the West Broadway neighbourhood in downtown Winnipeg.
