Our Mission
The Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue • Station 34(RCMSAR-34) - Cowichan is supported by the RCMSAR34 MARINE RESCUE SOCIETY. This Society is a volunteer run non-profit Canadian registered charity. RCMSAR-34 volunteer crew are on call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to respond to marine emergencies. We are dedicated to the saving of lives at sea.
Our coverage area extends from Saanich Inlet in the south (Brentwood Bay), to Cowichan Bay and up to Maple Bay in the north. We also cover the area around the south side of Saltspring Island as far as Swartz Bay.
We support community events, and promote boating safety such as the Cowichan Bay Days. We also operate as a safety vessel for marine activities such as the Cowichan Bay Boat Festival, the Maple Bay sail pass, MBYC Carols Afloat as well as the annual Brentwood Rowing Regatta.
